1. Daily life

  • Anna: Hi Peter. What is your daily life like?
  • Peter: Hi Anna. In my daily life, I go to work. I work in a factory. The factory is in a city. I start at eight o’clock and finish at four o’clock.
  • Anna: Do you like the job?
  • Peter: Yes, I like the job. The work is sometimes hard, but the people are nice. I talk to the workers and we help each other.
  • Anna: That sounds good. I work in a shop. The shop opens at nine o’clock. I help the customers and sell products.
  • Peter: What do you do in the shop?
  • Anna: I talk to the customers, show the products, and work at the counter. The customers are often friendly.
  • Peter: Do you work every day?
  • Anna: I work five days a week. I have a day off on Monday. On that day, I clean the apartment and buy food at the supermarket.
  • Peter: That is nice. I also have a day off. On my day off, I relax at home or visit the family.
  • Anna: What do you do after work?
  • Peter: After work, I go home to the house. I cook dinner for the family. We eat the food together at the table.
  • Anna: That sounds nice. After work, I go home to the apartment. I cook food and watch a film. Sometimes I read a book or listen to music.
  • Peter: Do you do sports?
  • Anna: Yes, I go to the gym two times a week. I also go for a walk in the park.
  • Peter: I sometimes play football with the friends. It is fun and good exercise.
  • Anna: What do you do at the weekend?
  • Peter: At the weekend, I relax. I go for a walk in the park or visit the friends. Sometimes we play games or watch a film together.
  • Anna: That sounds very nice. At the weekend, I meet the friends. We drink coffee at a café or go to a restaurant.
  • Peter: Do you ever travel at the weekend?
  • Anna: Yes, sometimes I take a trip to another city. I visit museums or go shopping in the shops.
  • Peter: That sounds interesting. I sometimes stay at home and work in the garden. The garden is my hobby.
  • Anna: That is good. It is important to relax.
  • Peter: Yes, free time is important. Daily life can be busy, so the weekend is nice.
  • Anna: I agree. Daily life and the weekend are different, but both are important

1.3 Rollespil

Du og en makker skal nu spille roller, hvor I indgår i en tilsvarende dialog. Her er et par oplæg, men find gerne selv på noget undervejs.

  1. James and Karen. James er buschauffør og kan lide at fiske. Karen arbejder i en børnehave. Karen er selv mor til små børn, så hendes fritid går med at passe børn
  2. Brian and John. Brian og James. Brian er fabriksarbejder og går på pubs i weekenden. Han går meget op i fodbold og især det lokale hold Derby County (der er mange fabrikker omkring Midtengland). James arbejder i en bank og tjener kassen, han går op i raceheste, men han vil også gerne med ned og se fodbold.
  3. Liza and Bridget. Liza og Bridget er begge 2 yngre kvinder. Liza studerer til lærer, mens Bridget er skuespiller og spiller på et lokalt teater. Liza har lige fundet manden i hendes liv, mens Bridget roder noget rundt med kærligheden. Til gengæld skriver hun dagbøger (se gerne filmene omkring Bridget Jones dagbøger)

John: “Excuse me Mary, can you go to the supermarket for me please?”
Mary: “Yes, dad. What do you need?”
John: “I need a loaf of bread and the kind of milk that we have in the fridge.”
Mary: “Do you want a big loaf or a small loaf?”
John: “I want a big loaf and a bottle of milk.”
Mary: “Okay, do you need eggs?”
John: “Yes, I need some eggs. The eggs in our fridge are too old.”
Mary: “How many eggs do you want?”
John: “I want ten eggs, not twelve eggs.”
Mary: “That is a lot of eggs.”
John: “I like the eggs for my breakfast.”

Mary: “Do you need fruit?”

John: “Yes, of course you can. Buy an extra plate of chokolate for yourself.”

Mary: “Okay, I will go to the supermarket after I finish my homework.”
John: “Thank you, Mary. That is very kind of you. When you get back home I will make you a nice cup of tea. And we can eat a bit of chokolate together”.
